The VK platform is sinking lower and lower, becoming a total mess. It’s just a terrible, unfixable space for users, thanks to the Mail.Ru company’s awful management. Honestly, it was never this bad back when Durov was in charge.

There’s way too much adware. Engaging with any accounts is nearly impossible since less than 3% of real users are actually looking for content. The rest? Just bots, automated accounts, and folks with serious issues. You can barely keep up with friends—out of 1600, they’re all too busy to interact. Plus, it doesn’t even work in my area unless I use a VPN. The platform is flooded with propaganda, fake news, and toxic communities, stifling any positivity and free speech. The new interface is a nightmare—clunky buttons, a weird layout, and a logo that’s just plain ugly. They’ve wrecked the old, user-friendly 'My profile' menu, and there’s no going back.

The servers are slow, constantly crashing due to bugs and glitches. Features are useless, and if you want to change your username, good luck—it needs moderation first. Innocent users often get banned without any warning, thanks to the clueless staff. If you lose your phone number or password, you can forget about recovering your account without a real (and only Russian!) ID.

Content is less engaging and filled with spam, explicit material, and negativity. They’re mining user data, and even if you delete your account, your info might still be out there. Your photos can show up on search engines unless you hide them. Most users are Russian speakers, and finding someone who speaks English is nearly impossible. It’s like 99% of users don’t even bother to respond to messages.

VK is just a copy of Facebook, plain and simple. You’d be better off looking for a different platform. They should really switch their domain to vk.ru instead of vk.com since it’s not international and is mostly restricted outside of Russia. I’m giving this a solid 1 star. Just ditch this unwelcoming, dead network for good. It’s not going to get any better, and the company needs a complete overhaul. I wouldn’t recommend VK to anyone, especially not to those looking for a decent social experience. Good luck out there.

This is truly a fantastic social platform. I’m not sure what some folks are complaining about and why they give it just one star. Just ignore those reviews; they’re talking nonsense and, honestly, it’s baseless.

This site is a total mess with hardly any useful content, and then they just ban folks, including me, after just a week for no clear reason. They leave a message in Russian saying Подозрительная активность страницы, which means 'suspicious activity.' I only watched about five videos, and that got me a permanent ban. There’s a link to recover your account, but it leads to a useless dead end.

VK is really just a place to fish for your phone number. Once they have your number and email, be ready for a flood of scam emails, calls, and texts coming your way.

In the past, this site was a fantastic social platform. However, after 2014, when Pavel Durov had to step down as CEO, VK began to fall under the control of the Russian authorities. As a result, there's zero freedom of expression here. I wouldn't suggest using this site.

I thought it was a neat way to meet new folks until they kicked me off for no apparent reason and wouldn’t let me back in. Based on what I've read from others, it seems like this is the norm if you’re not Russian. If VK operates similarly to FB, then it’s really just another tool for their government to keep tabs on its people. My tip? If you find yourself blocked on VK without explanation like I did, it’s likely not your doing, but for some reason, they just don’t want you around. So, it’s a bit sketchy to hand over your personal info to them, as you might just be handing it over to their government and hackers too, which could lead to bigger headaches than just a simple account block.

I gave the site a shot just one time and then bam, I was blocked for no reason at all.

Seems like you gotta be in Russia to keep an account on this site! The first time I tried to create an account, my phone number got blocked (kinda strange) even though it’s never been used before? So, I went ahead and used another number to set up an account, but now, a few months later, I can’t log in (it says my password is incorrect, but it’s not), so I made a new account with a different phone number that I still have access to. After just a few hours, it got shut down with a note saying I violated their terms of service?!? HOW? I didn’t post anything or do anything on the site! I just don’t get it. Are the folks running this site all a bit off their rockers or what?

Once you log out, there's no way to log back in, what a scam!

I uploaded a clip to my VK account that I filmed using my own personal mobile device. In the footage, it’s obvious that I’m holding my phone right next to my face. Later, I noticed that my video had been replaced with a black screen featuring a cross. When I clicked on it, I got a message stating that the video was taken down from public view at the request of the copyright owner. Since I recorded it myself on my own phone, I’m clearly the copyright holder...

My account got compromised, and they switched my password. I'm trying to protect my information, but honestly, it feels like you folks are okay with what went down. I’ve attempted every method to remove my account, but your support team isn’t helping me get the code I need to wrap things up. There’s no safety for data with this app if even the owner can be locked out. What’s really frustrating is that there’s no way to have someone verify their identity properly.

You guys are a total mess. I tried multiple times to get my account back, and each time you kept asking for all sorts of info. I sent you pictures of my ID and my current location, but still, YOU'RE F*CK88G DEMANDING MORE. Are you some kind of secret agency or what? It's my account, just give me back my access! With this kind of customer service, you'll soon be hanging out with folks who write their passwords on their foreheads so they don’t forget! Terrible system!

Tried to set up an account. Got banned for absolutely no reason after just one use. ZERO. I WON'T REACH OUT TO THEIR JUNKY SITE. VK is a lousy platform. It made me lose all interest in this business. Such sketchy practices. I can't even remove my own account.

I SET UP MY ACCOUNT. SO HAPPY FOR A WEEK. THEN MY ACCOUNT GOT PUT ON HOLD UNTIL I VERIFIED IT WAS MINE. VK KEEPS RINGING THE CORRECT NUMBER BUT HAS A PERMANENT 1 IN FRONT THAT BLOCKS THE CALLS. YOU WANT TO TAP INTO THE AMERICAN MARKET??? DROP THE DAMN 1!!!!!!!!!!

I've been on vk for a bit now, and I play free fire. My free fire account is connected to it, and I have the same email, but the phone number I used to create my vk account? Yeah, I don't have that anymore. I'm trying to get into my vk account, but they keep asking for that phone number I can't access. Plus, I totally forgot the last name linked to the account, so I'm locked out. If anyone can lend a hand, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks a ton!

Gave it a shot to register for the GTA Next RP game for easier access. Got banned right away. Their VK is a total mess. Seriously, don’t bother with it. Facebook is much more user-friendly.
